We do math based on how much we are able to count. Our counting is limited to our ability to count. Our understanding of the blessings we have is based on what we see and what we are able to hold in our hands.
But sometimes God shows us what He sees and what is in His hands.
Ask Abraham(Genesis 15:1-6)
Like Abraham when we let go of what we have and what we want. When we let God make your choices. Read Genesis 13.
When we do that, God shows us His maths. (15:5-6)
Firstly, the Lord took Abram outside. God take us out of where we want to belong. Take us out of our comfort zone and into God’s zone.
Secondly, the Lord invites us to LOOK UP. God wants us to see what He sees. Replace our vision with His super- vision.
Thirdly, the Lord invites us to do our Maths. God wants to explore the boundaries of our inability. His blessings is bigger and better than what we have or we can count.
Finally, the Lord show us His Maths. God’s blessings for us are beyond all that we can count or imagine. At the end of our ability is the beginning of the horizon of God’s favour and blessing.
Because God had figured it out. Abram stopped counting. He just believed God(15:6) When we stop counting and start trusting, God honours us.
In God’s maths we don’t count. We trust God. We watch God count and work out the details.
O Lord, I want to see what you show me. I want to stop counting within my limits. I want to start trusting you and all that you want from me. Amen
